A first for 2017

“Steel & Retro Bike Ride and Display”

For the first time in 2017 the Fruitloop Ride, in conjunction with the Shepparton Motor Museum, will feature a separate Steel & Retro Bike Ride entry category for 50km and 115km riders.

A chance to brush off the dust and cobwebs and enjoy a community ride on that favourite bike from your past, preferably a bike dating to before 1990.

In addition to riding your old favourite in the Fruitloop Ride on Sunday, or even if you choose not to ride, you are invited to display your bike at the Shepparton Motor Museum between the hours of 12.00 noon and 5.00 pm on Saturday the 9th of September.

Displaying your bike will give you entry to the Motor Museum and an opportunity to inspect and discuss the other bikes on display and also to view the Motor Museum’s recently acquired world class collection of vintage bikes. You might also want to check out the Motor Museum’s car collection. You will be surprised with the range and quality of both collections.

Some details:

  • Riding in the Steel and Retro Bike category will be on the normal conditions of entry for the ride but in addition you will have entry to the Motor Museum included in the entry fee.

  • Just displaying your bike at the Motor Museum on Saturday will cost $25, which includes entry to the Motor Museum, a ticket in the entry prize draw and lunch at the Start/Finish at Princess Park on Sunday. You might even want to bring your special bike along to the Start/Finish to show it off again to an appreciative audience.

  • Your bike may even be the winner of the most popular display competition.

A chance to demonstrate the class and beauty of the those pre carbon bikes! We would love to see you riding in your pre 1990s bike jersey to add to the atmosphere, if squeezing into your old gear is physically possible!
